The FOCUS Program is an interdisciplinary learning and living experience for select first-year and second-year students. In 2010-2011 SES faculty teach in the following FOCUS options: Between Europe and Asia: Explorations in Culture, Law, and Cognitive Science, Muslim Cultures, and The Power of Language. The Duke Slavic Department requires an oral and written proficiency test in Russian language. For first time matriculating students, the placement test must be taken before the beginning of the fall semester in order to determine appropriate registration.
