The FOCUS Program is an interdisciplinary learning and living experience for select first-year and second-year students. In 2013-2014 SES faculty teach in the following FOCUS options: Neuroscience and Human Language, Geopolitics & Culture, Politics of Language, and From Prague to Kabul. The Duke Slavic Department requires an oral and written proficiency test in Russian language. For first time matriculating students, the placement test must be taken before the beginning of the fall semester in order to determine appropriate registration.
